What does it mean to have our own relationship with God when God designed us for community? How do we encourage brothers and sisters who are not at the same stage of relationship in Jesus as we are? How do we not hinder their growth while still living in our freedom that Christ gives us? We cover this and more in today's message, so grab some kuupiak and join us as we grow closer to God, TOGETHER

Genuine Christian love stands apart from worldly expressions of love through its sacrificial and unconditional nature. This transformative love calls believers to detest evil while firmly holding onto what is good, demonstrating honor to others ahead of themselves, and maintaining spiritual passion in service to the Lord. It encompasses showing kindness to those who hurt us, blessing those who persecute us, and choosing forgiveness over revenge. This kind of love can only be manifested through the power of the Holy Spirit, as it often goes against our natural human instincts. It requires practical application in daily life, such as loving those with different viewpoints, serving without expecting recognition, and putting others' needs before our own. The practice of forgiveness becomes crucial, acknowledging that vengeance belongs to God alone. This love challenges believers to examine their hearts, remove conditions from their love for others, and extend the same grace to themselves that Christ offers.

The sermon focuses on Romans 9:30-10:13, discussing the contrast between the Gentiles who obtained righteousness through faith and the Jewish people who sought it through works of the law. The pastor emphasizes how the Jewish people, particularly the Pharisees, had great zeal for God but lacked proper knowledge, leading them to pursue their own righteousness rather than God's righteousness through Christ. The message highlights the importance of having both zeal and knowledge in our faith, warning against pursuing passion without biblical understanding. It concludes by emphasizing that while God is sovereign in election, humans are still responsible for confessing and believing in Christ for salvation. Key Verses are
Romans 9:30-31
Romans 10:9-10
Romans 10:13
1 Corinthians 13:8

Romans 9 is one of the chapters of the Bible that could be (and have been) talked about for years and we still have not come to its final full conclusion. But, God has given us what WE need to know and He knows the rest. Take some extra time with us today as we dive deeper into the specific doctrine of election and how God is glorified in His sovereignty. Hopefully some questions you may have had can be answered and your faith in God can be challenged in this comforting truth of the Lord.
