Welcome to 'Dwelling Place,' a powerful sermon series by Pastor Peej. Join us as we embark on a transformative journey of religious faith, aiming to embrace our identity in Christ. Our discussions will center around the teachings of First Peter, exploring the profound impact of our Christian identities on our everyday lives and societal norms.
Learn how seeing ourselves as followers of Christ, chosen races, and royal priesthoods can effect our daily life. Understand how a Christ-focused identity transcends self-glorification and can bring about a significant change on a personal and community level. With insightful scriptural illustrations, this podcast helps clear the fog that often clouds our spiritual identity, providing a unique perspective.
Highlighted with passages from the second and third chapters of First Peter, we present an in-depth analysis of the value of humility and submission in a believer's spiritual growth. With a wise counterbalance for misconceptions and tensions surrounding our multifaceted identities, the sermon provides valuable insights. We discuss enduring sorrows, suffering unjustly, and gradually following Christ's path to a brighter future.
The episode also delves into the complex concepts of submission to authority and the reconciliation required when this authority contests personal character. Through extensive Biblical references, we explore the authentic countercultural lifestyle – not a fight against worldly standards, but a peaceful surrender to God's will.
Finally, we conclude with a crucial call to reflect, repent, and commit to a life glorifying God. Embrace the freedom in Christ that His sacrifice on the cross provides and use it not as a cover-up for unethical deeds, but as a beacon of holiness. Let the light of Christ's glory guide you as you live in the identity He has called each one of us into.

Welcome to another insightful episode of The Dwelling Place Lounge Podcast where hosts P.J. Jones and Ray Daniel, with guest speaker Brandon Apol, spark a fascinating discourse on the paramount role of attaining and maintaining our identity in Christ for an enriched Christian living. Brandon leads us through an intriguing journey into 1 Peter, unearthing the bedrock of holiness, harmony, and hope that forms our spiritual identity.
Beyond discussing the key highlights of 1 Peter, we focus on verses of hope and direction, from 3 to 12, and how they interlink hope and identity. This part of the conversation unpacks how a deeper understanding of these verses can consolidate our hope in Christ and spur us to lead holy, righteous lives.
We then shift our focus to the complex yet rewarding concept of 'suffering wisely.' Through a series of practical examples from everyday life, we examine the importance of how we perceive ourselves and how it influences our resilience in the face of trials. The section further elaborates on how bearing suffering with wisdom can engender an enriched life.
This episode also offers an open discussion on one of the tough challenges Christians grapple with today: the torments of depression, identity battles, and the illusion of victimhood. By exploring hiking and hydration as metaphors, we underscore the salience of God's grace as the ultimate savior from life's tumults over any self-care strategies.
Helping Christians to find a balance amidst sorrow, this episode powerfully zeroes in on the grace-infused resilience that can be accessed by aligning identity in Christ. Listen in, decode the power in striving for a Christocentric identity, and take away action points to guide your spiritual journey.

Today we discuss in great detail Hebrews 10:26-31. What does it do to our relationship with Jesus if we continue to sin deliberately? What does this scripture mean? There are many questions to answer and we do so in this sermon. We know you'll enjoy this one and be encouraged to cling closer to Jesus with every day. Thank you!

Here we are dissecting a message from former Lighthouse Church pastor Josh Shaw in his message From Death to TRUE Life.
How did Josh use scripture? How do we take the words we hear and align them with the Gospel? What are some ways we can ensure we are being fed the whole truth and what are some things to look for in a teaching, either good or bad?
These episodes are not a criticism of the person, but an examination and practice of all of these areas. We live in the age of the internet where biblical teaching is all over and it is important for us to understand the implications of what we hear regardless of how good they sound.
This message by Josh Shaw is very good and I encourage you to listen to the entirety of the message on Lighthouse Church youtube channel!
